Box Score NEW ORLEANS, La. – Brewton-Parker Men's Basketball faced No. 3 Loyola (La.) on the road in New Orleans.
The Barons (2-21, 1-10 SSAC) were dropped by a highly talented Wolf Pack (19-1, 8-1 SSAC), 114-69 on Saturday afternoon.
How It Happened
Loyola opened the game on an 8-0 run to take an early lead. Brewton-Parker responded with five points to pull the deficit down to three with 17:21 left in the first half. The Wolf Pack scored to jump up to a five-point lead. The Barons were able to knock the deficit down to two points, but unfortunately, that was the closest the Barons were able to be within the Wolf Pack all afternoon.
Brewton-Parker managed to hold Loyola within a six-point lead for a couple of minutes until the Wolf Pack pulled away beginning at the 12:25 mark. Loyola captured its first double-digit lead with 11:43 remaining and did not look back. For the remainder of the half, the Wolf Pack outscored Brewton-Parker 35-22 to close out the half with a commanding 59-36 lead.
The Wolf Pack began the second half just as quick and dominant as the first, scoring eight unanswered points in the first two minutes of play. Loyola continued its dominance in the second installment of the game, outscoring Brewton-Parker 55-33. The Wolf Pack were able to pull their lead to as high as 56 with four minutes to play but eventually closed out with the 114-69 scoreline.
Inside The Statistics
- Antrell Williams led the way offensively for BPC, scoring 12 points while the trip of TJ Taylor, Emmanuel Green, and Aaron Udell notched 10 points each.
- Loyola gathered six players with double figures with Andrew Fava leading with 19 points.
- Brewton-Parker shot for 39% (23-of-59) from the field, 36% (9-of-25) from three, and 87.5% (14-of-16) from the charity stripe.
Other Notables
- Loyola outrebounded Brewton-Parker 38-30 while also holding the advantage in steals, 22-5.
