What is a Baron?

A Baron is a respected member of royal nobility that exudes loyalty, power, and strength. Dating back to the 11th Century in Europe, noblemen who acknowledged their loyalty to their superiors in exchange for land were given the title Baron or Baroness. In today’s world, the title represents people who are respected because of their influence.

The mascot "Baron" was chosen for Brewton-Parker College in 1929 as a way to pay tribute to the Scottish heritage of the surrounding area. The coaching staff at the time wanted an original mascot, one that would stand out amongst the rest.

While at Brewton-Parker College, you should embrace the symbolism and significance of the attributes of being a Baron. A Brewton-Parker Baron earns their respect, is strong, and stands out amongst the crowd.
