MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - September 8-9, 2025 – The Brewton Parker Christian University Men's Golf team recently faced challenging conditions at the Coastal Georgia Men's Fall Invitational, held over two days in St. Simons Island, Georgia. With windy weather impacting all three rounds, the Barons demonstrated resilience and determination, showcasing steady improvements in their performance.
Despite the tough conditions, the team managed to lower their scores with each round. Leading the way for the Barons was Brinson Burdette, finishing the tournament at 15 over par, with an average score of 77 across the three rounds. His consistent play was a significant asset to the team's overall effort.
Will McNeely followed closely, concluding the invitational at 22 over par, averaging 79.33. His contributions were crucial, especially in the face of the strong winds that challenged all competitors.
Other team members included James Dugan, who finished at 34 over par, Grant Reynolds at 42 over par, and Jesper Larsson, who wrapped up the tournament at 62 over par. Each player faced the elements head-on, and while scores were higher than desired, the experience gained will undoubtedly serve them well in future competitions.
Coach Davidson expressed his pride in the team's performance despite the obstacles. "I was glad to see improvement each round. The course conditions were not perfect, but we left a lot of shots out there. We will definitely be working on playing in windy conditions. I'm very proud of our guys and we will improve. This tournament lets us know where we stand because the teams that we played against are definitely the top-notch teams."
Looking ahead, the Barons are set to travel to Tennessee in October to participate in the Bryan College Invitational. With the lessons learned from the Coastal Georgia Invitational, the team aims to build on their progress and tackle the next challenge with renewed focus and determination.
