Mount Vernon, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Barons men's golf team encountered a challenging round at the Sanctuary Golf Course Invitational on February 10-11, 2025, finishing with a collective score of +81. Under the guidance of Coach
Mark Davidson, the Barons pressed on despite the absence of two key players.
Anthony Cecchin led the Brewton-Parker squad with a commendable +4, demonstrating resilience and skill on the challenging course. Other notable performances included Brinson Burdett and
Andrew Velazquez, who both played their first competitive rounds for the team, with scores of +29 and +31, respectively.
Nicholas Hofmann also contributed significantly, finishing at +19, while
Grant Reynolds rounded out the team with +41. The Barons competed over two days, playing 54 holes of golf, and got some great experience.
"We were missing our number two and three players and had to turn to two players who played their first competitive rounds for us: Brinson Brudette and
Andrew Velazquez.
Anthony Cecchin and Nick Hofman helped lead the team, but the field was incredibly strong. This was a great start to the spring season as we prepare for the conference tournament," Coach Davidson commented on the team's performance.
The Barons are set to compete in the ABAC Invitational in Tifton, Georgia, on February 24, 2025. They aim to leverage the experiences from this invitational to enhance their performance in upcoming tournaments.
