Box Score 2 MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – Brewton-Parker softball hosted Faulkner (Ala.) on Friday afternoon for an SSAC doubleheader.
The Lady Barons (21-23, 10-16 SSAC) dropped the doubleheader against the Faulkner (26-16, 13-11 SSAC) with a 3-1 loss and a 5-1 loss.
Game 1 | Brewton-Parker 1, Faulkner 3
Faulkner scored first in the second inning with an RBI single to lead the Lady Barons before adding a pair of runs during the top of the third. The Eagles produced four hits while also leaving two runners on base to close out with a 3-0 lead.
Brewton-Parker responded with a run in the bottom of the third inning as Erika Yatabe was hit by a pitch to earn a free base. Yatabe was then advanced by a sacrifice bunt from Abby Cox before Alexis Bradshaw singled to move Yatabe to third base. Yatabe finally managed to cross the dish from an RBI groundout from Chole Strickland.
Unfortunately, Brewton-Parker was held hitless for the remainder of the game as Faulkner's efforts in the field thwarted any offensive opportunities for the Lady Barons.

- Strickland recorded the lone RBI while Abbey Flowers and Bradshaw recorded a hit each.
- Savannah Cook led the fielding for BPC with 10 putouts while Strickland led with five assists.
- Natalie Hardy pitched all seven innings for the Lady Barons. She gave up three earned runs while recording three strikeouts and three walks.
Game 2 | Brewton-Parker 1, Faulkner 5
The Lady Barons struck first in game two with a solo score during the bottom of the second. BryAnn Pound and Cailyn Snellgrove both produced singles while Pound scored from Snellgrove's base hit. Faulkner managed to keep the damage to a minimum as Brewton-Parker left the bases loaded to end the inning.
Faulkner quickly erased BPC's 1-0 lead with four runs in the third inning. The Eagles produced a total of six hits for four runs to control the scoreline after three innings of play. The Lady Barons connected for hits from MacKenzie and Strickland, but the pair were left on base.
After a scoreless fourth and fifth innings, Faulkner tallied one final run in the sixth inning before shutting the door on the Lady Barons for the 5-1 win.

- Pound led BPC with two hits while Snellgrove recorded the RBI.
- Flowers recorded 10 putouts while Strickland produced five assists.
- Laykin Brown pitched for all seven innings allowing four earned runs. She struck out two batters as well.
