Box Score 2 JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Brewton-Parker softball program traveled to Jacksonville, Fla. to take on Trinity Baptist on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Barons (9-7) split the two-game series with the Eagles (5-12) with a 3-1 loss and an 11-2 win on the road.
Game 1 | Brewton-Parker 1, Trinity Baptist 3
Trinity Baptist struck first in the second inning with a solo run scored as the Eagles gathered two hits and took advantage of two errors from BPC. The Lady Barons responded quickly by taking advantage of an error from TBC to gather a run in the third inning.
After a scoreless fourth inning, Trinity Baptist tacked on two additional runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 3-1. The Eagles notched four hits and left three runners on in the inning while also taking advantage of another BPC error.
Both teams were held scoreless to close out the game. Brewton-Parker could only muster two hits between the sixth and seventh innings while leaving a total of three runners on base as the Eagles managed to sneak away with the 3-1 win.
Inside the Statistics
- The Eagles outhit the Lady Barons 9-4 in game one. Abby Cox led the efforts for BPC with two hits.
- Chloe Strickland scored for Brewton-Parker with Abbey Flowers picking up the RBI.
- The Lady Barons left eight runners on base and recorded three stolen bases.
- Defensively, BPC gathered 18 putouts with Josaline Whitten recording nine with Strickland recording three assists.
- Both teams recorded a total of three errors each.
- Natalie Hardy started in the circle, throwing for five innings. She was credited for the loss giving up all nine hits and allowing three runs.
- Laykin Brown closed out the game pitching for an inning.
Game 2 | Brewton-Parker 11, Trinity Baptist
Brewton-Parker came alive in game two as the Lady Barons scored runs in all but one of the seven innings played. BPC opened the scoring efforts in the first inning with an RBI single from Flowers to bring home Alexis Bradshaw. In the second, the Lady Barons added another run off an RBI double from Cox to score Olivia Whitt for the early 2-0 lead. Trinity Baptist leveled the score in the bottom half of the second with two of their own runs.
BPC answered shortly after in the third inning with a home run from Strickland as well as an RBI sacrifice fly from Madisen Nelson to score MacKenzie Tripp, giving Brewton-Parker a 4-2 lead. The Lady Barons added three more runs from two hits and an error from TBC to take a commanding 7-2 lead in the fourth inning.
The fifth inning resulted in scoreless efforts before Brewton-Parker tacked on two runs in the sixth and seventh innings to secure the win, 11-2. Both Tripp and Flowers notched homers in the sixth inning before BPC scored two runs on three hits in the seventh.

- BPC outhit TBC 11-6 in game two with Flowers leading the way for the Lady Barons with three hits and three RBIs.
- As for runs scored, four Lady Barons notched two runs apiece.
- Tripp, Whitt, and Cox gathered a double each.
- Defensively, Nelson recorded nine putouts with Cailyn Snellgrove recording seven and Strickland assisting four.
- Alexis Wiliams earned the start for game two, throwing for 4.1 innings. She gave up four hits and two runs. In addition, she walked five batters and struck out two.
- Brown closed out the game in 2.2 innings pitched, striking out three batters in 10 at-bats.
The Barons move to 9-7 on the season and return to play on Tuesday as they host Point (Ga.) for a 1 p.m. ET doubleheader.
