Box Score TALLADEGA, Ala. – Brewton-Parker Men's Basketball resumed SSAC play on Thursday night with a road contest against No. 5-ranked Talladega (Ala.).
The Barons (2-27, 1-16 SSAC) fell against the tough Tornadoes (24-3, 14-2 SSAC), 73-59 despite battling close for most of the game.
How It Happened
Talladega opened the game with a three-pointer with Bryce Wilson scoring his own trey ball to level the game early. Wilson's bucket from distance was the first of BPC's 8-0 run to lead by five points, with 16:45 remaining in the half for an 8-3 lead.
Four minutes pass with neither team finding a score until the 12:16 mark as Talladega scored to knock the deficit down to two points. The Tornadoes tied the game at 8-8 with 10:44 remaining before taking a two-point lead. The Barons answered with a leveling scoring at the 9:10 mark. BPC reclaimed the lead with a three-pointer from Antrell Williams with just over eight minutes left.
Both teams traded shots down the floor, flipping leads. Talladega final gained some traction with a 13-4 run to lead 28-20 with 3:52 left to play in the half. Brewton-Parker answered with a run of their own, outscoring Talladega 10-3 with a minute left to play. Talladega managed to hold onto the lead at the half, leading 34-33 at the break. BPC's final four buckets in the half came from beyond the arc.
The Tornadoes opened the second half by building to a five-point lead, but the Barons chipped away at the deficit and captured the lead with back-to-back threes from Aaron Udell to lead 42-41 with 15:31 left to play. After a three-point "and-one" effort from TC, BPC found themselves in the lead yet again from an Udell three with 14:36 remaining.
Talladega answered with a 12-0 run to pull away to an 11-point lead, leading 56-45 with 11 minutes remaining in the game. BPC went on an 8-0 run capped off with a three-pointer from Wilson to pull the deficit down to just three points with six minutes left to play. Unfortunately, Talladega began building a lead-up and ran away from the Barons' comeback efforts. The Tornadoes built up enough of a cushion to close out the game with the 73-59 final score.

- Udell led with 16 points on the night, 15 of which were from beyond the arc. Wilson and Williams also scored in double figures with Wilson scoring 14 while Williams gathered 10.
- Williams led off the glass with nine of the Barons' 34 rebounds.
- As a team, BPC shot for 35.7% from the floor, 41.2% from three, and 55.6% from the free-throw line.
