The Lady Barons (1-3) dropped the pair of games against the Skyhawks (4-2), 5-1, and 7-4.

Game 1 | Brewton-Parker 1, Point 5

Point scored all five of its runs in the bottom of the second inning on four hits while leaving two on base. The Lady Barons were credited with an error in the inning. Game one of the day was rather uneventful for the final five innings.

Brewton-Parker managed to finally find more than one hit, notching three hits in the top of the seventh inning. BPC was able to find a run as Abbey Flowers knocked out a solo homer to left-center field. Unfortunately, the Lady Barons were unable to produce anything else, leaving two on base.

  • Along with Flowers' homer, Chloe Strickland highlighted the batting with a solo double.
  • Laykin Brown pitched for all six innings, giving up eight hits, walking two batters, and striking out two on 27 at-bats.

Game 2 | Brewton-Parker 4, Point 7

Game two produced some more action for BPC but it was not enough to take down the Skyhawks.  The Lady Barons recorded a hit and left two on base in the opening inning before dealing with Point quickly in the bottom half of the inning.

In the second, Point found a run to lead 1-0. The Skyhawks gathered two hits and left a runner on. The Lady Barons returned the favor with double the effort, scoring two runs to lead 2-1 in the top of the third inning. MacKenzie Tripp gathered a two-run homer, bringing Abby Cox home for the BPC lead.

The lead was quickly extinguished as Point recorded two runs on three hits in the bottom half of the inning to lead 3-2. The fourth and fifth innings were quickly dealt with from both sides as neither team could produce a hit.

Point changed the narrative of the previous two innings, finding five hits and four runs to advance the lead to 7-3. In an effort to extend the game, BPC managed to gather three hits for two runs in the top of the seventh. Strickland notched a triple with Alexis Bradshaw and BryAnn Pound earning singles. Just like game one, BPC's comeback efforts were too late and the Skyhawks were able to close out for the win.
