Barons Defeated 95-62 by (RV) Southeastern

LAKELAND, Fla. -- Brewton-Parker Men's Basketball continued action in Lakeland, Fla. with a matchup against (RV) Southeastern on Monday afternoon.

The Barons (1-13) were defeated by the Fire (10-2) 95-62 in the second meeting of the season.

How It Happened

The Fire opened the scoring to take an early lead and would not look back, opening with a 9-2 run in the first three minutes of play. Southeastern gave Brewton-Parker a hard time as they held the Barons off from another score until the 10:35 mark with the Fire leading 22-4.

Brewton-Parker began finding the net with buckets but every trip down the floor was answered by Southeastern as their lead remained above 15 points. The Fire continued to build upon the Barons' deficit and ultimately closed out the first half with a 50-22 lead.

BPC struggled to connect on shot opportunities in the first half, making just nine of 32 attempts from the field and only one three-point out of 12 shots. The Fire managed to make 15-of-35 attempts from the field and 11-of-25 shots from beyond the arc in the first half.

Southeastern remained hot in the second half, opening with back-to-back three-pointers to advance their lead to 34 points. The Barons answered with three consecutive scoring trips for a 7-0 run to knock down the deficit. Unfortunately, Southeastern did not bend much more for the remainder of the game as they dropped to a 25-point deficit before closing out the game 95-62.

  • George Davey led the offensive efforts for BPC with 21 points while Floyd Davis scored 10. Davis also led the team with six rebounds.
  • Aaron Udell led the team with five of the 12 assists.
  • Defensively, Davis notched three steals on the afternoon.
