Box Score HARDEEVILEE, S.C. -- The Brewton-Parker men's soccer program traveled east to take on SCAD Savannah (Ga.) for the first road match of the season on Tuesday night.
The Barons and the Bees finished the match in a 1-1 double-overtime draw. Brewton-Parker fought hard throughout the match but found it difficult to take advantage of the limited opportunities to score.
Head Coach Bob Neumann shared his thoughts after the tough draw on the road. "The boys were great tonight," Neumann said. "It's always difficult to absorb pressure and to take advantage of limited opportunities. Having lost the lead late in the match, the guys did wonderful ensuring that we shared spoils."
How It Happened
- In the first 30 minutes, SCAD Savannah's swarming attack was pressuring Brewton-Parker, outshooting the Barons 11 to 1.
- After a scoreless opening 30 minutes, Tyreke Moore found the back of the net to give the Barons a 1-0 lead off a corner kick from Samuel Figueiro.
- The Bees tacked on a few more attempts in the first half but were unable to break the wall that Jamair Stewart built in the goal.
- In the 78th minute, SCAD Savannah managed to finally break through to equalize the match 1-1.
- SCAD Savannah finished the match with a total of 25 shots, 13 of which were on goal.
- Brewton-Parker finished with five total shots and four on frame.
Standout Statistics
- Stewart continued to produce big-time saves for BPC, saving 12 shots from cross the goal line.
- Moore managed to create a few chances offensively, leading BPC by recording two shots on goal with one breaking past the SCAD Savannah keeper.
Other Notables
- With the result, the Barons break a six-game streak of losses against the Bees to move the overall record to 0-6-1 that dates back to the 2005-06 season.
