Box Score MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – It was a bitter-sweet day for the Brewton-Parker men's soccer program as the Barons (4-11-1 2-4 SSAC) dropped their match against Faulkner (Ala.) 4-2 on Saturday's Senior Day.
Unfortunately, the Eagles 4-9, 3-3 SSAC) were able to knock down Brewton-Parker with two goals late in the second half.
Before the match, five senior student-athletes were honored for their hard work and dedication to the men's soccer program. Pablo Grajales, Isaiah Lamont, Samuel Figueiro, Junior Nyamunda, and Tyreke Moore were the seniors that were recognized in front of their teammates, friends, family, and peers.
Head Coach Bob Neumann shared his thoughts after the match. "Obviously, it is disappointing to not get the result we wanted," Neumann said. "Even more so when we were the masterminds of our own demise."
"In the SSAC, you cannot give away goals so cheaply and we were on the receiving end of the mistake," Neumann added. "We have a chance to make things right on Thursday in our rivalry match."
