Mobile, Ala — Brewton-Parker Men's soccer continued conference play, falling 6-0 to the University of Mobile. The loss moved the Barons to 0-11-1 overall and 0-6 in conference play.
Brewton-Parker kept the match within reach throughout much of the opening half. Mobile broke through in the 20th minute when Tobias Galuschka scored off an assist from Joaquin Rivera. The Barons continued to push offensively, but Mobile added another goal in the 41st minute to take a 2-0 advantage into halftime.
The Rams began to create separation after the break, scoring in the 62nd and 69th minutes to extend their lead. Mobile added two more goals in the final 13 minutes to close out the 6-0 result.
Despite the final score, Brewton-Parker generated 14 shots, its second-highest total of the season to this point, and placed four on goal. The Barons also matched Mobile with seven corner kicks. Mobile finished with 28 shots, including 14 on target.
Iker Galvez led BPCU with three shot attempts, while Uros Andjelic, André Xavier, Guillem Ropero and Biel Ibanez each recorded two. Ibanez placed both of his attempts on goal, while Xavier and Tymathe Prince accounted for the Barons' other two shots on target.
In goal, Diego Alejandro Montes Carrera played all 90 minutes and finished with eight saves.
Brewton-Parker will return home Thursday, Oct. 1, to host Blue Mountain University.
