Montgomery, Ala — The Lady Barons stayed within striking distance through the opening half before falling 4-0 to Faulkner University. The loss moved the Lady Barons to 2-8 overall and 0-5 in conference play.
Brewton-Parker generated an early opportunity when Daria Cwynar put a shot on goal in the seventh minute, but Faulkner goalkeeper Taylor Waters made the save. The Lady Barons kept the Eagles off the scoreboard until the 34th minute, when Cassie Jackson broke through to give Faulkner a 1-0 advantage.
The Lady Barons nearly found an equalizer before halftime. Cwynar fired another attempt in the 39th minute that beat the goalkeeper but struck the crossbar, allowing Faulkner to carry its 1-0 lead into the break.
Faulkner extended its advantage in the second half, scoring in the 64th minute before adding two more goals just 51 seconds apart in the 71st and 72nd minutes to push the final margin to 4-0.
Brewton-Parker finished with six shots, including two on goal. Cwynar led the Lady Barons with two attempts and one shot on frame, while Honey Murphy recorded BPCU's other shot on goal. Mikayla Johnson, Laura Marin and Christen Summey each added an attempt.
In goal, Angel Camacho played all 90 minutes and finished with 10 saves, reaching double figures as Faulkner put 14 of its 28 attempts on target.
The Lady Barons will remain on the road for their next match, traveling to Mobile, Alabama, to take on the University of Mobile.
