Mobile, Ala — Brewton-Parker Women's Soccer continued conference play, falling 7-1 to the University of Mobile. The loss moved the Lady Barons to 2-9 overall and 0-6 in conference play.
Mobile jumped out to an early advantage, scoring in the sixth and ninth minutes before adding a third goal in the 18th. The Rams added two more late in the opening half to take a 5-0 lead into the break.
Brewton-Parker responded quickly after halftime. Daria Cwynar put the Lady Barons on the board in the 49th minute, scoring an unassisted goal to cut the deficit to 5-1. The goal was Cwynar's 13th of the season, extending her team lead.
The Lady Barons kept Mobile off the scoreboard for much of the second half following Cwynar's goal, but the Rams added two late goals in the 82nd and 83rd minutes to close out the 7-1 result.
Brewton-Parker finished with five shots, including three on goal. Cwynar and Honey Murphy each recorded two attempts, while Laura Marin added one. Cwynar, Murphy and Marin each placed a shot on target. Mobile finished with 36 shots and 17 on goal.
In goal, Angel Camacho played the full 90 minutes and was credited with nine saves in the individual goalkeeper statistics.
The Lady Barons will return home to continue conference play against Blue Mountain Christian on Thursday, Oct. 1.
