Barons Set Numerous PR's at ASU Invite

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Christian University (BPCU) Barons track and field teams traveled to compete at the Annual Alice Coachman Invite in Albany, Ga. The Barons men's team finished fifth out of a field of 12 teams, and the women's team took home second place in a field of six full teams. The Barons men's group saw two event wins, and the women's group saw four event wins. 

For the men, Hollis Morton continued his dominating season, winning in both the 100m and 200m against a field of 40 both times. He finished the 100m with a time of 10.43 seconds and the 200m with a time of 21.11 seconds. Dan Smith set a new school and personal record for the Hammer throw, taking home second place with a mark of 46.74m. Kameron Noble continued to show her skills for the women, winning the 400m race with a time of 57.41 seconds and taking home second in the 200m with a time of 25.01. The Barons also saw Jordan King win the 3000 Steeplechase event, alongside Tenisha Herbert winning the Triple Jump and Ja'Delle Major winning the Javelin event. 

The Barons are poised to compete at the Southern States Athletic Conference Championships on April 20-22, 2026, aiming to have conference champions and more national qualifiers.
