TIFTON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons basketball team used a dominant second half and a series of late drives to the rim to pull away from the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Stallions, earning a 75-68 road victory on February 12, 2026, to start their final road trip of the regular season.
The first half saw both teams going into the break tied at 30 after a back-and-forth struggle. The Stallions grabbed control of the game early, going on an 11-2 run in the first five minutes of the game. The Barons followed the slow start with a run of their own, going on to cut the lead to just one point after the first 10 minutes of the half had gone by. The Barons managed to grab another lead with just under seven minutes remaining in the half and held onto it while the Stallions slowly chipped away until a last-second layup from the Stallions sent both teams to the locker rooms tied at 30.Â

After the break, the Barons controlled the final 20 minutes with a 45-38 scoring edge, sparked by their work on the glass and in the paint. Brewton-Parker finished with 47 rebounds, including 23 on the offensive end, and turned that advantage into 48 points in the lane. Despite shooting just 37.5% from the field and 11.1% from 3-point range, the Barons' ability to extend possessions and finish inside proved decisive down the stretch.
Â
Jadon Melvin led Brewton-Parker with 19 points and nine rebounds, including six offensive boards, while committing no turnovers in 27 minutes. Melvin's impact was most evident in the closing stretch of the second half. With the Barons protecting a narrow advantage, his fastbreak layup with 4:19 remaining pushed the lead to 64-58. He struck again at the 2:08 mark, driving for another inside bucket that gave Brewton-Parker a 73-62 cushion and effectively put the game out of reach.
Â
Head Coach Leonard Epps reflected on the performance, saying, "Happy to see our guys gut one out. You hate to see a player go down, ABAC's staff was on top of it, and I'm glad the player was okay. I'm glad we were able to finish the game in good spirits after such a long break."
Â
The Barons will look to keep their winning momentum rolling into their final regular-season road game of the year on February 14, 2026, when they take on the Thomas University Night Hawks.Â
