MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons could not keep pace with a hot-shooting Faulkner side Thursday night, falling 94-61 in a conference matchup at Tine Davis Gymnasium in Montgomery, Ala. A decisive surge spanning the end of the first quarter and the opening minutes of the second quarter turned a tight game into a double-digit deficit that the Barons were unable to overcome.
Both teams traded leads in the first half, but Faulkner seized complete control early in the second half, stretching the lead with a series of three-point shots and transition opportunities.
Brewton-Parker's offense was led by Jayden Hill, who scored a team-high 17 points and knocked down four 3-pointers while adding four steals, providing energy on both ends. Tommy J. Tisdale III added 16 points, including three 3-pointers, and grabbed five rebounds as the Barons tried to counter Faulkner's inside-out attack. Blackwell's early dunk and activity around the rim helped Brewton-Parker establish momentum in the opening stretch before Faulkner's late-half run.
Head Coach Leonard Epps shared his thoughts following the game, "We struggled to shoot the ball and finish at the rim today. They are a strong team, and we will need to be ready for them when we face them later in the season. We have a chance to split this trip and will turn our focus to Mobile."
The Barons will look to bounce back on January 17, 2026, when they take on the Rams of the University of Mobile, Ala., looking to build off their strong start to the season. The Barons sit at 13-4 overall and 5-2 in conference.
