MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - In an exciting announcement for Brewton-Parker, three of the Barons' wrestlers,
Gabriel Evans, Caden Whitaker, and James Wilds, have been distinguished as NWCA Mens Scholar All-Americans, a prestigious accolade acknowledging their exceptional performance both on the mat and academically.
The criteria for this honor are stringent, ensuring that only the most dedicated student-athletes receive recognition. Wrestlers must either finish in the top 8 at the NAIA individual national championship tournament with a minimum GPA of 3.0, qualify for the NAIA National Championships with a 3.25 GPA, compete in a conference tournament with a GPA of 3.5, or participate in at least 15 competitions as recorded by TrackWrestling.
The Barons receiving this honor include two freshmen and one sophomore. Gabriel Evans is a sophomore majoring in special education; Caden Whitaker is a freshman majoring in nursing; and James Wilds is a freshman majoring in business management. The Barons are immensely proud of these athlete's achievements on the mat and in the classroom.
