MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - In a challenging road game, the Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons lost their first game of the season to the Running Eagles of Life University in Marietta, Ga.. The Barons' loss drops them to 6-1 and 1-1 on the year.
The Baorns' battled back and forth with the Running Eagles and went into the half trailing 30-39. The second half saw the Barons battle back and bring the game down to the wire, outscoring the Running Eagles 40-37 in the second half. The Barons, with another group effort led by Tommy J Tisdale III, scored 19 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out two assists. Late in the second half, the Barons cut the lead to just one with 34 seconds left, but the Running Eagles hit multiple free throws to seal the game.
Head Coach Leonard Epps reflected on his team's performance following the game. "Our guys fought hard today and never quit. Really excited to see how we respond from this going forward the rest of the way."
The Barons are set to take on Spartanburg Methodist College on November 29, 2025. The Barons look to get back in the win column and keep their great season rolling.
