MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker College Women's Cross-Country team ran at the Julius Johnson Invitational 5k this weekend. The Lady Barons finished in the top 10 out of 14 complete teams, and several other schools failed to reach the required runners for an entire team. The Lady Barons finished with an average of 25:36.

Catching up with Coach James Frank, he shared his thoughts on today's outcome: "We are happy with our runners each setting PRs today. The team had to run with tough conditions and a lot of heat. Our entire team has worked hard to transition to running cross country, and we are very proud of how they have responded in practice to improve. They have worked incredibly hard and are excited to see what the rest of the season holds. 

RaaShonda Khalil led the Barons today with a time of 23:17.6 and set another PR; she finished 57 out of 110 runners. Danielle Solis finished as the Lady Baron's second runner with just under an eight-minute mile pace and a total time of 24:31.4. Amaree Harmon was the third finisher at 26:29.2. Jaleah Rhett and Aliyah Allen came in back-to-back with times of 26:48 and 27:04.9 respectively. Mylan Tanner wrapped up the numbers for the Lady Barons at 29:20.5.

The Baron's next race opportunity is at home at the BPC Invitational on October 4th.
