GULF SHORES, Ala. – Brewton-Parker Men's Track & Field finished in third place out of 11 teams at the SSAC Outdoor Championships on Tuesday.
Travis Massey highlighted day two for the Barons with a National "B standard" Qualifying time of 10.48 seconds in the 100-meter dash finals for seventh place overall.
In the 400 meters,
Errol Quallo took fifth with a time of 49.88 seconds and
Sean Williams followed in sixth with a time of 50.13 seconds.
Three Barons scored points in the 110-meter hurdles with
Bradley Taylor leading the way with a bronze medal performance of 15.16 seconds. Taylor was followed by
Cayden Restrepo in fourth with a time of 15.37 seconds and
Yusuf Abuukar in seventh with a time of 16.41 seconds.
Restrepo took silver in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.73 seconds with Abuukar following behind in seventh with a 1:02.63. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, DeMariro Thomas picked up silver with a time of 10:11.64. Thomas was followed by
Eric Smith in sixth with a time of 10:42.94 and
Jonah Galli in seventh with a time of 10:45.08.
In the day two relays, the team of Taylor, Massey, Williams, and
Malachi Williams took third in the 4x100 meters with a time of 42.00 seconds. In the 4x400 meters, Restrepo, Quallo, Taylor, and Williams took eighth place with a time of 3:37.13.
Restrepo took the gold in the pole vault with a 3.35-meter clearance while Abuukar and
Donta' Williams followed by clearing 3.05 meters.
Derrick Reid took fourth with a mark of 2.30 meters.
In the javelin,
Talon Walker took seventh with a throw of 44.89 meters and was followed by
Kohlman Greer in eighth with a mark of 44.27 meters.
Yabaka Moore gathered a silver medal in the shot put, collecting a mark of 14.80 meters.
Malik Brown followed Moore in sixth place with a throw of 13.41 meters.
