STATESBORO, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Men's Track & Field took first out of four teams at the Southern Relays hosted by Georgia Southern this weekend.
Day One
Friday was highlighted by a first-place finish in discus for
Kohlman Greer with a school record throw of 41.67 meters. Greer also took third in the hammer with a throw of 39.17 meters.
On the track,
Yusuf Abuukar took down the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.26, while
John Stokes took seventh in the open 400 meters with a time of 56.65s.
For the rest of the throws,
Malik Brown followed Greer in the discus with a throw of 40.05 meters for third place, while
Dan Smith took sixth with a 30.35-meter throw, and
Talon Walker placed eighth with a 29.71-meter throw.
Noah Woodard rounded out discus for the Barons with a throw of 29.53 meters for ninth place.
In the hammer, Smith finished fourth with a toss of 37.75 meters. Woodward followed with a 34.50m throw for fifth, and Brown brought up the rear in sixth with a 33.71-meter throw.
Three Barons competed in the long jump.
Donta' Williams took second with a 6.07-meter jump and was followed by
Sharard Mizell in third with a jump of 5.91m.
Derrick Reid produced a 5.34-meter jump for sixth place.
Day Two
Saturday was highlighted by four Barons taking home first place. Walker gathered a first-place finish in the javelin with a mark of 44.2m while
Yabaka Moore took first in the shot put with a throw of 15.00 meters.
Errol Quallo produced a 1.89-meter clearance for first place in the high jump, and
Travis Massey gathered first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.95 seconds.
On the track,
Hollis Morton gathered a third-place finish in the 100-meters with a time of 11.17 seconds. Abuukar picked up second place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.75 seconds.
In the 800-meter run,
Anthony Ferrie took third place with a time of 2:01.45. Ferrie was followed by
Jordan Hackett (6th, 2:10.44),
Hunter Milhollin (7th, 2:16.14), and
Trey Reid (8th, 2:25.59). In the 1,500 meters,
DeMario Thomas took second with a time of 4:17.74. Thomas was followed by
Jonah Galli (3rd, 4:18.97),
Eric Smith (4th, 4:33.42),
Jacob Hackenberry (5th, 4:35.50), and
Brandon Williams (8th, 5:19.97).
In the day two throws, Williams took second in the javelin with a mark of 41.10m. Greer took third with a throw of 41.00 meters.
Cayden Restrepo picked up a throw of 27.30m meters for seventh place. In the shot put, Moore was followed by Brown in sixth place with a throw of 12.69m, while Woodard took eighth with a mark of 10.06 meters.
Walker picked up a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 1.70m and picked up a 1.85-meter clearance in the pole vault for eighth place. Restrepo cleared 3.25m in his second-place performance, Williams took fifth with a mark of 2.65m, and Reid and Abuukar took joint sixth with 2.00m clearances.
