Men’s Track and Field Compete at the Emory Spring Break Classic

ATLANTA, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Men's Track & Field took 10th out of 18 teams at the Emory Spring Break Classic this weekend, competing in the two-day event in Atlanta, Ga.

How It Happened - Day One

The first day was highlighted by Cayden Restrepo who qualified for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.18s for an NAIA "B" Standard and a fourth-place finish.

On the track, Eric Smith produced a time of 10:44.92 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for eighth place.
In the field events, Sharard Mizell gathered a seventh-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 6.35 meters, while Donta' Williams jumped 6.29 meters for 10th place.

In the throws, Kohlman Greer produced a throw of 40.23 meters in the hammer throw for ninth place. Greer was followed by Dan Smith in 11th with a throw of 37.52 meters, and Malik Brown in 13th with a throw of 35.97 meters. Yabaka Moore picked up a fifth-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 14.16, while Brown followed in 11th with a throw of 12.29 meters.

How It Happened - Day Two

The second day was highlighted by school records from Greer in discus with a throw of 41.33 meter for fifth place, and DJ Christensen in the 10,000-meter with a run of 34:57.15 for fourth place.

On the track, Hollis Morton took 15th in the 100-meter run with a time of 10.92 seconds. Sean Williams produced a 50.13 second 400-meter race for 11th place. The team of Anthony Ferrie, Jonah Galli, Jordan Hackett, and DeMario Thomas competed in the 4x800, and picked up a time of 8:32.24 for seventh place. In the 4x100, Morton, Restrepo, Williams, and Bradley Taylor picked up a ninth-place finish with a time of 42.91 seconds.

Derrick Reid picked up a 13th-place finish in the triple jump with a jump of 11.91 meters.

For the rest of the throws, Brown produced a 36.47-meter throw for 15th place and Talon Walker picked up a sixth-place finish with a throw of 45.96 meters.

Next Up

The Barons will be back in action on March 22-23, for the Southern Relays hosted by Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga..
