ATLANTA, Ga. – Brewton-Parker Men's Track & Field kicked off their outdoor season taking sixth out of 19 teams at the Clark Atlanta Panther Invitational in Atlanta, Ga. on Saturday.
On the track, the day was highlighted by a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles from
Cayden Restrepo with a school record time of 55.63 seconds. Restrepo also ran a time of 16.17 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles for eighth place.
The field events were highlighted by a first-place finish from
Yabaka Moore with a throw of 15.26 meters to set a new school record.
Malachi Williams also ran the 400-meter hurdles, and picked up a time of 1:00.64 for 12th place, while
Bradley Taylor produced a time of 17.23 seconds for 14th place in the 110-meter hurdles.
Hollis Morton took two top ten finishes in the 100-meter (2nd, 10.89 seconds) and the 200-meter (8th, 22.41 Seconds), while
Sean Williams took 14th place in the 100-meter with a time of 11.22 seconds and ran 50.38 seconds in the 400-meter for eighth place.
DJ Christensen gathered a 10th-place finish in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:53.28 to round out the track events.
In the jumping events,
Sharard Mizell produced a 6.24-meter jump in the long jump for sixth place. In the triple jump,
Derrick Reid placed seventh with a jump of 11.81 meters. Mizell and
Talon Walker took a joint seventh place in the high jump with a 1.70-meter clearance. In the pole vault, Restrepo picked up a 3.05-meter clearance for 10th place.
For the rest of the throwing events,
Kohlman Greer produced a throw of 38.95 meters for sixth place in the hammer throw, while
Dan Smith took home 13th place with a throw of 36.91 meters. In the javelin, Walker picked up a fifth-place finish with a throw of 43.72 meters and was followed by a 35.19-meter throw from Greer to take 12th.
