GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Brewton-Parker Men's Track & Field competed in day one of the SSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday in Gainesville, Fla.
BPC sits in third place out of six teams with 39 team points. Day one was highlighted by a school record and a new SSAC indoor record in the shot put from
Yabaka Moore with a throw of 14.82 meters for first place.
For the rest of the field throws,
Malik Brown followed Moore picking up three points in the shot put with a throw of 12.19 meters for sixth.
Kohlman Greer also gathered team points with his 11.60-meter throw for seventh place.
In the high jump,
Errol Quallo took second place with a 1.91-meter clearance and was followed by
Talon Walker in fifth place with a jump of 1.65m.
Anthony Ferrie picked up another school record in the 1,000 meters, with a time of 2:39.78 for sixth place. The DMR team of
DeMario Thomas,
Sean Williams,
Jonah Galli, and Ferrie also set a school record with a time of 11:00.05 for third place.
Quallo also gathered team points in the 400 meters, with a time of 50.66 seconds for eighth place.
Hollis Morton gathered a seventh-place finish in the 60 meters with a time of 7.07 seconds.
Walker also took part in the Heptathlon gaining 1,902 points after day one. Walker ran 8.01 seconds in the 60-meter, jumped 4.55 meters in the long jump and 1.74 meters in the high jump, and threw 9.88 meters in the shot put.
