On November 4, 2024, Brewton-Parker College's wrestling team, the Barons, participated in the high-stakes Pepsi Patriot Open Wrestling Tournament. The Barons saw a standout performance from Blake Walker who led the team with a top 6 performance before reaching his match limit.

The Pepsi Patriot Open showcased several Barons exhibiting growth with four different Barons going 2-2 on the mats during the Open. John Arellano, Zahquel Davis, Thomas Crawford, and Morgan Johnston, all showcased their skills and hope to improve as the season continues taking their individual 2-2 starts as a foundation to improve upon.

Coach Tyler Smith shared his thoughts on the team's performance, "I am glad to finally be able to see these guys compete. We definitely did not perform the way we would like to, but we saw many positive things in our young team that we can build upon moving forward." He further emphasized the team's readiness to tackle their conference schedule, starting with their upcoming encounter against Life University at Gillis Gymnasium on November 9, 2024.
