MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons men's wrestling team excelled on and off the mat this season, with 13 members of the team earning All-Academic Team Honors for the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
The Barons wrestlers showed their commitment to excellence off the mat hearing a 3.25+ GPA in the classroom this season. Axel Andrew, Walker Anthony, Derrick Bell, Gabe Evans, Jesus Grijalva, Robert Keyhea, Brandon Lively, Tate Morris, Levi Shaw, Blake Walker, Caden Whitaker, Gailan Wilds, and Conner Wright all earned the distinction of making the AAC All-Academic Team. The Barons were also proud to have Brandon Lively named as their Champions of Character representative for the 2025-26 season.
Head Coach Tyler Smith reflected on the season, saying, "We are proud of all our guys that are committed to excellence in the classroom. These thirteen have been diligent in balancing a rigorous academic schedule along with a demanding athletic schedule. Our champion of character, Brandon Lively, does everything the right way and exemplifies not only a man of character but a man of God. We are proud of all our guys that go above and beyond!"
