GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Brewton-Parker Men's Track and Field took on the Florida Collegiate Invitational over the weekend.
How It Happened | Day One
Day one was highlighted by a third-place finish and a new school record from
Dan Smith in the weight throw with 14.93 meters.
For the rest of the throws,
Yabaka Moore placed fourth in the weight throw with a 14.21-meter throw, followed by
Malik Brown in eighth with a throw of 12.67 meters and
Kohlman Greer in ninth with a 12.56-meter throw.
In the long jump,
Donta' Williams gathered a 15th-place finish with a jump of 5.75 meters.
On the track,
Anthony Ferrie gathered a ninth-place finish in the 600 meters with a time of 1:26.59 and was followed by
DeMario Thomas in 11th with a 1:27.81. To finish the day, the DMR team of
DJ Christensen,
Yusuf Abuukar, Thomas, and Ferrie took home a fifth-place finish with a time of 11:22.21 for a new school record.
How It Happened | Day Two
Day two was highlighted by a second-place finish in the shot put from Moore with a throw of 14.67 meters for a new school record. Moore was followed by
Kohlman Greer with 12.25 meters for seventh place and
Malik Brown in eighth with a throw of 11.98 meters.
Talon Walker produced a 14th-place finish with a
throw of 10.73m.
In the triple jump,
Derrick Reid jumped 11.46m to pick up 15th place.
On the track, Ferrie gathered an eighth-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:02.46 and was followed by Thomas in 15th place with a time of 2:06.55.
Bradley Taylor secured ninth place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.72 seconds.
Cayden Restrepo came in behind Taylor in 11th place with a time of 8.86 seconds, followed by Abuukar in 14th with 9.30 seconds.
