GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Brewton-Parker Men's Track and Field team competed over the weekend at the RADD Sports College Invitational.
How It Happened | Day One
Day one was highlighted by a second-place finish in the shot put from
Yabaka Moore with 13.86 meters and a sixth-place finish in the weight throw with a throw of 13.97 meters.
For the jump events,
Hollis Morton secured a sixth-place finish in the long Jump with a mark of 6.51 meters. In the triple jump,
Derrick Reid jumped 11.46 meters for 13th place. To round out the jumps for the day,
Errol Quallo took a fifth-place finish with a 1.87-meter clearance.
In the throwing events,
Dan Smith gathered a 10th-place finish in weight throw with a throw of 12.95 meters, followed by
Noah Woodard with a throw of 11.42 meters for 14th place.
Eric Smith started the track events for the day with a 16:59.93 in the 3,000-meter race walk.
Jacob Hackenberry gathered a ninth-place finish in the 1,000-meter race with a time of 2:54.91, followed by
Anthony Ferrie in 11th place with a time of 2:58.57 and
Trey Reid in 13th place with a 3:13.57.
In the 300-meter race,
John Stokes picked up a sixth-place finish with a time of 39.13 seconds.
DeMario Thomas ran a 1:27.89 in the 600-meter for an eighth-place finish. Thomas was followed by
Yusuf Abuukar (13th, 1:31.13) and
Jonah Galli (15th, 1:32.10).
To finish off day one action, the team of Thomas, Galli, Ferrie, and Hackenberry took a third-place finish in the DMR with a time of 11:38.55 for a school record.
How It Happened | Day Two
Day two was all on the track and was highlighted by a ninth-place finish from
Bradley Taylor with an 8.70 seconds 60-meter hurdles. Taylor was followed up by
Cayden Restrepo with a time of 8.84 seconds for 12th-place.
In the 800-meter race, Ferrie gathered a 15th-place finish, running a 2:03.84. Following the 800,
DJ Christensen picked up a 12th-place finish in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:46.83.
To round out the day, the Barons had three teams competing in the four-by-four. The team of Quallo, Morton,
Malachi Williams, and
Sean Williams picked up eighth place with a time of 3:32.12. The team of Galli, Thomas, Ferrie, and
Jordan Hackett ran a 3:42.37 for 10th place, followed by the team of Hackenberry, Smith, Reid, and Stokes with a 4:04.66 for 11th place.
