MOBILE, Ala. – Brewton-Parker men's track & field wrapped up the SSAC Outdoor Championship on Saturday in Mobile, Alabama.
The Barons finished fourth in the team standings, earning a team total of 93 points.
NiShawn Wise competed in the 400m race, finishing in fifth place with a time of 50.34s followed by Jamar Smith in 11th and Troy Cristopher in 13th. As for the 800m race, Jabril Muhammad finished 9th with a time of 1:59.49 while
Chris Smith and
Mason Smith finished 17th and 18th, respectively.
Two Barons earned top-ten placements in the 110m hurdle finals.
Calab Williams led with a fifth-place finish, running in a time of 16.12s followed by
Bradley Taylor in seventh with a time of 17.50s.
As for the longer events,
Briley Reyes ran a time of 17:53.01 for 11th in the 5,000m race while
Jacob Hackenberry finished 13th with a time of 18:20.21. During the 3,000m steeplechase,
Eric Smith earned fifth with a time of 10:51.24 followed by
Hunter Milhollin in ninth with a time of 11:55.78.
Jordan Hackett finished 12th, running in the event as well.
The 4x100m relay team of
Me'khi Gibson,
Warren Hollis,
Bradley Taylor, and
Micah Alford ran a time of 42.56s for fifth place. The 4x400m relay squad of Wise, Cristopher, Smith, and Muhammad notched a fourth-place finish with a time of 3:33.32.
Both
Nathaniel Shields and
Rhett Harris competed in the pole vault, but unfortunately did not record a successful mark on Saturday.
Jacob Worrell led the Barons in the triple jump with a sixth-place finish, jumping for 12.97m.
Jace Upshur followed in 10th with a mark of 11.51m with
Derrick Reid behind in 11th with a mark of 11.29m.
For the throws,
Matthew Moore led the shot put with a second-place finish and a throw of 13.70m while
Malik Brown finished fifth with a mark of 12.49m.
Kohlman Greer threw a mark of 11.80m for eighth with
Adam Patrick throwing a mark of 11.21m for ninth. Lastly in the javelin, Worrell led with a sixth-place finish and a throw of 41.14m. Greer earned ninth with a mark of 39.94m followed by
Jamon Tymes in 11th and Upshur in 13th.
The Barons take on the GSU Classic next week in Statesboro.
