ALBANY, Ga. – The Brewton-Parker men's track & field program competed at the Alice Coachman Invitational hosted by Albany Sate on Saturday.
The Barons finished seventh as a team with 47 points.
Briley Reyes highlighted the day with a first-place finish in the 5,000m run with a time of 17:13.36. As a team, Brewton-Parker produced a total of 13 top-ten finishes for the day.
First for the throwing events,
Malik Brown produced a second-place finish in the shot put by recording a mark of 12.59m. Brown also garnered eighth in the hammer throw with a mark of 35.54m. As for the rest of the hammer throwers,
Kohlman Greer tossed for a mark of 41.15m for second followed by
Daniel Smith in 10th with a throw of 33.98m and
Adam Patrick's toss of 21.27m for 15th.
Greer also produced a ninth-place finish in the javelin with a mark of 35.85m.
Jacob Worrell led the event with a third-place finish and a throw of 41.75m.
Jace Upshur notched 13th with a throw of 32.37m followed by Patrick in 15th with a throw of 26.77m. Worrell also competed in the long jump, recording a jump of 6.50m for fifth.
As for the hurdles,
Bradley Taylor led the 110m hurdle event with a sixth-place finish and a time of 16.14s. He was followed by
Garrett Ross in seventh, running a time of 16.16s while
Calab Williams ran a time of 16.73s for ninth.
Me'khi Gibson rounded out the Barons withing the top-15 with an 11th-place finish, marking a time of 17.37s. Ross also competed in the 400m hurdles and finished in fifth with a time of 57.89s.
Ty'Sheem Denton performed well in the 100m dash, recording a time of 11.06s for eighth in the event.
NiShawn Wise finished 13th in the 400m event with a time of 51.63s while Jabril Muhammad finished 15th in the 800m race with a time of 2:05.09
