COCHRAN, Ga. – Brewton-Parker men's basketball traveled to Cochran, Georgia to take on SSAC and in-state rival Middle Georgia on Thursday night.
The Barons (5-19, 3-13 SSAC) were knocked down by the Knights (10-11 6-9 SSAC) in an 80-51 loss.
How It Happened | 1st Half
- A trey from Grant Sanders opened things up before the hosts responded with a three-pointer of their own just moments later.
- Middle Georgia moved to a 15-6 lead, chewing roughly four minutes off the clock in the process.
- Brewton-Parker surged back by cutting the deficit to just two points with a 7-0 run highlighted by a three-pointer from Lance Smith.
- Over the following three minutes, the Barons' offensive went cold as the Knights were able to jump out to a 26-13 lead with an 11-0 run.
- Brewton-Parker struggled to score, with buckets falling scarcely.
- Antrell Williams knocked down a trey at the 9:37 mark before the Barons were held nearly three minutes until another shot was made with Dan Fisher scoring from beyond the arc.
- Middle Georgia wrapped up the final eight minutes with a 15-8 advantage, closing out the first half with a 43-24 lead.
How It Happened | 2nd Half
- The Knights came out of the break, scoring a pair of buckets in the first three minutes to extend their lead to 47-24.
- Smith connected for a jumper in the paint at 16:24 to break the drought for BPC, but the hosts continued to answer.
- A score from Emmanuel Green at the 14:44 mark was the first couple of points in a 6-0 run for the visitors.
- Middle Georgia began to rip time away from the clock, going on an unhurried 10-1 run that extended the lead to 27 points with less than nine minutes to play.
- Unfortunately for the Barons, despite scoring 27 points in the second half, the Knights were able to remain in a commanding position scoring 37 in the half.

- The Barons finished the night shooting for 31.5% (17-of-54) from the floor, 30.4% (7-of-23) from three, and 52.6% (10-of-19) from the charity stripe.
- Dane Fisher led the evening with 10 points while going 3-of-7 from beyond the arc.
- Off the glass, Damarcus Johnson Jr. led with eight boards.
- Smith dished out four of BPC's nine assists.

- Middle Georgia led 42-37 off the glass.
- The Barons gave up 21 turnovers while the hosts gave up 12.
