GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Brewton-Parker men's track & field traveled south to Gainesville, Florida to compete in the Alachua County Collegiate Invitational on Thursday and Friday.
The Barons competed in Gainesville for the second week in a row, competing in several events on Thursday with a full slate on Friday.
As a program, BPC produced 12 top-ten finishes for the two-day event, highlighted by a top-five finish from Nathaniel Shields in the pole vault. Shields recorded a mark of 4.35 meters for fifth place followed by Rhett Harris in eighth with a mark of 2.85m.
Bradley Taylor notched a sixth-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.60s followed by Jamon Tymes in eighth place with a time of 8.93s. BPC had two distance medley relay squads earn top-ten finishes with the squad of Jordan Hackett, Mason Smith, Chris Smith, and Eric Smith finishing seventh with a time of 10:50.35 while the squad of Hunter Milhollin, Jabril Muhammad, DeMario Thomas, and Briley Reyes finished eighth with a time of 11:45.52.
Kohlman Greer produced a sixth-place finish in the weight throw, tossing for 13.76 meters with Malik Brown in eighth with a mark of 13.68m and Daniel Smith in tenth with a mark of 12.41m.
For the triple jump, Jace Upshur finished tenth with a jump of 12.11 meters. As for the 400m and 800m races, Warren Hollis finished tenth in the 400m with a time of 51.47s while Muhammad finished tenth in the 800m with a time of 2:01.45.
