Steve Edwards is entering his 11th year at Brewton-Parker, where he serves as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Campus Pastor.
A native of Newton, Mississippi, Edwards brings more than 10 years of head coaching experience. During his career, he has earned six Coach of the Year honors, made four national tournament appearances, reached a national championship game in 2019 and led his teams to 10 straight playoff appearances. He has also coached 19 All-Conference selections and two All-Americans.
Edwards was named HoopDirt Coach of the Week in 2024 and continues to bring experience and leadership to both the basketball program and the athletic department.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in History from Spring Hill College, a master’s degree in Leadership from Tennessee Temple University and a master’s degree in Ministry from Temple Baptist Theological Seminary.
Edwards and his wife, Carlena, have two daughters, Makaliah and Landyn.
