Coach Stephen Birchfield is entering his 2nd year as assistant for the men's basketball program at BPC. From 2007-2008, he spent freshman year as a medical redshirt at BPC. From 2008-2009, he played for Point University, starting until he was sidelined by a second knee injury. He will be graduating this Fall from Brewton-Parker.
His coaching background includes:
2009-2010 South Paulding High School assistant
2010-2011 Central Carroll assistant
2011-2015 New Manchester High School assistant and Head of Player Development. The team qualified for the state tournament first year competing as a school. The team reached the Elite 8 in 5A play in 2014.
2015-2016 Started 1st basketball club team at Albany State University.
2016-2017 BPC assistant men's basketball coach and head JUCO coach for men
"I don't believe I picked BPC, I believe God sent me here for a reason. I started here as a 18 year old and God called me back at 27. I believe in the mission here at BPC and I couldn't think of a better place to coach basketball than at BPC where I can help kids athletically, emotionally, and spiritually," says Birchfield.
Coach Birchfield was born in Birmingham, AL to Steve and Linda Birchfield. He was raised in Hiram, GA and currently lives in Mount Vernon, GA.
