Mount Vernon, Ga — Cross Country took advantage of the opportunity to compete on its home course Friday as the Barons turned in several strong finishes at the 2026 Brewton-Parker Invitational.
The BPCU men were led by Mason LaFavor, who turned in one of the top performances of the meet with a second-place overall finish in the 7,700-meter race. Teammate Jonah Galli was not far behind, crossing the line in fourth place to give the Barons two runners inside the top five.
Brewton-Parker continued to place runners near the front of the field with Philip Howard finishing 13th, Brendan McMillan taking 15th and Johnathon Ogg placing 18th. The strong group gave the Barons five runners inside the top 20.
Gavin Gardner added a 29th-place finish, while Dylan Fletcher crossed the line in 42nd and Noah Mardarski finished 56th among the 60 runners.
On the women's side, Jayla Fouse placed Brewton-Parker with a fifth-place overall finish, continuing her strong start to the season. Anaya Wallace also turned in a strong showing, finishing 11th overall and giving the Lady Barons two runners near the front of the field.
Danaysia Roberts rounded out the Brewton-Parker women's finishers shown in the results, placing 47th overall in the 53-runner field.
Friday's home meet gave Brewton-Parker an opportunity to compete against a field featuring programs from throughout Georgia and the Southeast, with both the men and women producing strong individual performances in front of the home crowd.
The Barons will look to carry the momentum from their home meet into the next stage of the 2026 season. Their next meet they will be traveling to Bluffton, SC for the Sand Shark Invitational on October 10.
