Mount Vernon, Ga — Brewton-Parker Men's soccer stayed even with Life University through the opening half Saturday afternoon before the Running Eagles pulled away after the break for a 5-1 victory.
Life opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Alex Coba found the back of the net to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage. Brewton-Parker answered just before halftime as Uros Andjelic scored in the 43rd minute, sending the teams into the break tied at 1-1. Andjelic's goal came on the Barons lone shot of the match.
The Running Eagles regained the lead early in the second half, scoring in the 50th minute before adding another in the 61st to make it 3-1. Life added two late goals, including one in the final seconds, to close out the 5-1 result.
Life finished with 21 shots, placing 14 on goal, while Brewton-Parker recorded one shot and put it on frame. The Running Eagles also held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.
In goal, Diego Alejandro Montes Carrera recorded nine saves while playing the opening 81-plus minutes. Thomas Hernadez entered for the final 8:36 of the match.
Brewton-Parker will return to the road Thursday, Sept. 24, when the Barons travel to Montgomery, Alabama, to take on Faulkner University at 8:30 p.m.
