Mount Vernon, GA — Brewton-Parker Volleyball opened the 2026 season Friday by splitting a pair of matches on the first day of the Brewton-Parker Invitational, earning a 3-0 victory over Stillman College before falling 3-1 to Brenau University.
BPCU started the day in impressive fashion against Stillman, sweeping the Tigers 25-13, 25-14 and 25-20. The Barons finished with 29 kills while hitting .388 as a team and held a 19-6 advantage in service aces.
Amme Mobley led the attack with 11 kills, while Ana Villarreal added eight. Taylor Lamontagne and Alana Garcia each recorded five service aces, with Lamontagne also contributing a team-high 10 assists.
The Barons returned to the court later Friday against Brenau. After dropping the opening two sets, BPCU responded with a hard-fought 26-24 victory in the third set to extend the match. Brenau eventually closed things out in the fourth, 25-23, to take the match 3-1.
Villarreal led BPCU with 12 kills, followed by Mobley with eight and Ryann Prince with six. Lamontagne finished with 17 assists and three aces, while Mobley contributed three blocks.
The Barons finish the Brewton-Parker Invitational today with two more matches inside Gillis Gymnasium. BPCU will face US Sports University at noon before closing the tournament against Truett McConnell University at 4 p.m.
