Box Score 2 MOUNT VERNON, GA — Brewton-Parker Volleyball closed out the Brewton-Parker Invitational in strong fashion Saturday, picking up a pair of victories over US Sports University and Truett McConnell University to finish the weekend with a 3-1 record.
The Barons opened Saturday with a dominant 3-0 sweep over US Sports University, earning their second sweep of the weekend. BPCU then returned to the court for its tournament finale against Truett McConnell, where the two teams battled through all five sets.
After Truett McConnell edged BPCU 27-25 in the opening set, the Barons responded with a 25-20 victory in the second. TMU answered with a 25-13 win in the third, but Brewton-Parker refused to go away. The Barons controlled the fourth set, winning 25-15 to force a deciding fifth set.
With the match on the line, BPCU finished the job with a 15-13 fifth-set victory, securing the 3-2 win. The Barons finished with 50 kills, 46 assists, 13 service aces and six blocks, while hitting .216 for the match.
Amme Mobley led BPCU with 12 kills, while Ryann Prince added 11 and Alya Atamer finished with eight. Taylor Lamontagne directed the offense with 39 assists and added two blocks, while Alana Garcia delivered five service aces. Ana Villarreal led the Barons with eight digs.
Brewton-Parker leaves its home Invitational at 3-1, a strong opening weekend for a new-look Baron squad looking to build momentum early in the 2026 season.
Lady Barons returns to action Saturday, Aug. 29, when the Barons travel to Pensacola, Florida, to take on Pensacola Christian College.
