LAKE WALES, Fla. — Brewton-Parker Women's Soccer suffered its first loss of the season Saturday, falling 8-1 to Warner University on the road.
Warner opened the scoring in the 20th minute, but the Lady Barons answered in the 32nd minute when Gabriela Munoz found the back of the net off an assist from Daria Cwynar, tying the match at 1-1. Warner regained the lead late in the opening half, sending BPCU into the break trailing just 2-1.
The match shifted in the second half as Warner's attack found its rhythm, scoring six times to pull away. BPCU finished with eight shots, including six on goal, while Warner recorded 36 shots and 19 on frame.
Cwynar led the Lady Barons with three shots and two on goal, while Munoz finished with two shots on goal and BPCU's lone goal. Goalkeeper Angel Camacho faced heavy pressure throughout the match and BPCU was credited with 11 saves as a team.
Brewton-Parker will look to bounce back when the Lady Barons return to the road on Saturday, Aug. 29, to face Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia.
