BABSON PARK, Fla. — Brewton-Parker Men's Soccer battled through a tough road game Thursday evening, falling 5-0 to Webber International.
The Barons stayed within striking distance throughout the opening half. Webber grabbed the early advantage on a penalty kick in the 15th minute, but BPCU continued to battle and create opportunities. The match took a turn late in the half when goalkeeper Karolis Zukauskas received a red card in the 41st minute, forcing the Barons to play a man down for the remainder of the contest. Despite the setback, BPCU entered halftime trailing just 1-0.
Brewton-Parker continued to compete in the second half, with Guillem Ropero putting an attempt on goal and the Barons earning four corner kicks. Webber eventually took advantage of the extra man, scoring four times in the second half to pull away.
The Barons finished with seven shots, led by Ropero with three, while Biel Ibanez added two. BPCU also finished with four corner kicks on the night.
Brewton-Parker will have a quick opportunity to respond as the Barons remain on the road Saturday, traveling to Warner University for their next matchup.
