MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons baseball team dropped the final game of the series against the Blue Mountain University Toppers. The Toppers used a five-run second inning and a nine-run fourth to seize control, then added insurance in the late frames. Brewton-Parker showed life on offense throughout, scoring in four different innings, but the Toppers' continuing to leave the yard prevented the Barons from mounting a comeback.
After Blue Mountain briefly moved in front at the top of the second, the Barons responded immediately in the bottom half to keep the game within reach. Trailing 5-1, the Barons put together a three-run frame highlighted by Raul Morales, who ripped a two-RBI double to right as part of the rally that trimmed the deficit to 5-4. The turning point came in the fourth, when Blue Mountain strung together a nine-run outburst to break the game open. Despite the Barons' best efforts, they were unable to mount a comeback as the Toppers continued to score in the later innings, taking the last game of the series.Â
The Barons will look to regroup as they head on the road to face off against the Stallions of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia, for a conference series starting on March 13, 2026.Â
