MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Christian University (BPCU) Barons flag football team hosted the Bobcats of St. Thomas University on March 19, 2026. The Barons had a strong defensive showing but were unable to generate any offense, getting shut out 13-0.
The Barons' defense shut down the Bobcats' offense early in the game, preventing them from scoring early, but an interception in the second quarter gave the Bobcats a short field. The Bobcats wasted no time capitalizing on the Barons' miscue and scoring the opening score of the game with just over eight minutes left in the second quarter to take a 6-0 lead after a missed one-point try. Both teams would then trade chances and show out defensively until the fourth quarter.
The Bobcats once again inherited a short field and quickly went to work, taking four minutes to engineer their second scoring drive of the day and converted the one-point try to go up 13-0. The Bobcats' second touchdown of the day would prove to be too much for the Barons' offense to overcome, as they did their best to drive down the field but were unable to get in the endzone, ending the game with the Bobcats in victory formation.
The Barons will look to bounce back on March 21, 2026, when they host the Lions of Florida Memorial for another Sun Conference showdown.
