Barons Soar Over Eagles

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons baseball team kicked off their home part of the schedule with a 4-2 win over the Reinhardt University Eagles on February 10, 2026, in a midweek game.

Despite a slow start and trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, the Barons turned the game around in one swing. After chipping away to bring the tying run to the plate, Brewton-Parker broke through when Fred Guzman Diaz drove a two-run double to left field, flipping the score to 3-2 and giving the Barons a lead they would not surrender. Brewton-Parker then added an insurance run in the sixth, and the pitching staff handled the rest.

On the mound, the Barons staff turned in a highly efficient effort, combining to allow only two earned runs over 9.0 innings on eight hits. The staff issued numerous walks but stranded nine runners on base, holding Reinhardt to just two runs. Angel Amador contributed on both sides of the ball, recording two hits and a run scored while also working 3.2 innings on the mound with two strikeouts and just one earned run allowed, helping stabilize the game before the offense surged ahead. Barons turned to Jack Hulse to close out the game, who picked up the save on 2.0 innings of work and gave up no runs to end the game.

Head Coach Aaron Larsen reflected on the game, saying, "Always nice to start the home schedule with a win. We did a good job of keeping ourselves in the game, not chasing after going down. Solid baserunning helped us take a lead, and quality pitching and fielding kept them from scoring. Good start to the week, but now it's time to focus on South Bend [Indiana South Bend University]."

The Barons will host the Titans of Indiana South Bend University for a four-game weekend set starting on February 12, 2026.
