Barons Fall to Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Christian University Women's Soccer team faced a challenging game against the Georgia Southwestern State University Hurricanes on September 4, 2025. Held in Americus, Ga., the regular season soccer game concluded with a disappointing 5-0 loss for the Barons.

During the first half of the match, the Hurricanes established a lead with a single goal, entering halftime with a score of 1-0 in their favor. The Barons' efforts to turn the tide in the second half were met with resistance as Georgia Southwestern extended its lead significantly. Jordin Gundin of the Hurricanes was particularly effective, scoring two goals, including the game-winning goal. Defensively, the Barons rotated goalkeepers with Angel Camacho defending for the majority of the game and Haley Mcelhannon taking over for the final minutes.

Looking forward, the Brewton-Parker Barons will aim to regain their footing as they face Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Fla., on September 6, 2025. This next match presents an opportunity for the Barons to improve their current record of one win, two losses, and no draws in the ongoing season.
