Barons Drop Road Match to Eagles

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - On September 6, 2025, Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons faced a regular-season contest against the Trinity College of Jacksonville Eagles in Jacksonville, FL. Despite a strong defensive effort led by goalie Angel Camacho, the Barons were unable to secure a win, ending the game with a 3-0 defeat.

The first half saw the Eagles take a slender lead, with Kira Goodwin netting the only goal, ultimately becoming the game-winning score. The second half of the match continued to be tough for the Barons as Trinity College extended its lead with two more goals from Camila Lopez and Lucy Rife. Goaltender Angel Camacho did all she could, stopping 13 shots, but was unable to hold off the Eagles' attack completely.

Head Coach Phillip Borde highlighted the resilience of the team. "Thank God for the opportunity again today. The players we had worked until they couldn't anymore. Losing multiple players in one game is always difficult to handle at any level. A healthy team gets a different result, but that's a part of a season. We need to regroup and get back to how we were playing beforehand. Thank God for the wins and thank God in the losses."

Looking forward, the Brewton-Parker Barons will aim to regroup as they prepare for their next game on September 9, 2025, against Freed-Hardeman University (Tenn.) at Mount Vernon. The Barons currently stand with a 1-4-0 record as they progress through the season, hoping to improve their standings in upcoming matches.
