Barons Suffer Defeat Against Knights

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Brewton-Parker Christian University men's soccer team faced a challenging away game on September 4, 2025, against Middle Georgia State University. During this regular season meeting in Cochran, GA, the Barons struggled to find their form, ultimately conceding a 6-0 loss to the Knights.

From the beginning of the game, the Barons were under heavy pressure, trailing with a significant 4-0 score by halftime. Despite attempts to regroup and counteract the Knights' aggressive play, the Barons could not close the gap in the second half. Middle Georgia State, led by formidable performances, extended its lead to finalize the game at 6-0. The Barons' goalie, Carrera, Diego, faced an intense challenge managing the offensive onslaught.

Reflecting on the tough loss, Head Coach Bob Nuemann remarked, "There aren't many positives that can be drawn from a 6-0 defeat. The reality is that tonight we were only good for moments. However, in too many other moments we lacked clarity, ideas, and a willingness to make up the distance. It's still early in the season, so there is a good opportunity to learn and grow from this."

Looking ahead, the Barons will regroup and aim for recovery in their next game scheduled for September 6, 2025, against SCAD-Savannah in Savannah, GA. As they move forward, the team holds a current record of 1-2-0, with room to improve as the season progresses.
