Barons Fall to Wolf Pack in Straight Sets

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - In a hard-fought conference volleyball game on September 19, 2025, the Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons were outmatched by the Loyola University Wolf Pack at The Den in New Orleans, losing in straight sets.

The first set saw a close battle with the Barons trailing closely behind and ending the set at 20-25. The second and third sets unfolded similarly, with Brewton-Parker scoring 18-25 and 15-25, respectively. Despite their strenuous efforts and strong plays, the Barons could not overcome the consistent performance of the Wolf Pack.

Key players from Brewton-Parker included Taylor Lamontagne and Adriana De Jesus, both contributing seven kills, and Amme Mobley, who also added significantly by scoring four kills, two digs, and one block. Lamontagne not only led in kills but also in defensive plays with 10 digs and was remarkable at serves, recording four aces. Ryann Prince supported the defensive efforts with two blocks, while Alana Garcia brought her A-game with 10 digs and two aces. In the setting, Raphaela Felisberto was instrumental, delivering 20 assists to her teammates.

Head Coach Obed Quiles reflected on the team's performance following the game. "We played better tonight. Our energy was good from beginning to end. We did better offensively, but our passing went down today. We need to put one game together and a call to go our way, and everything will change for us."

With this result, Brewton-Parker's season record stands at 2-8, with a 0-4 record in their conference games. They look to regroup and aim for a better outcome in their next match against William Carey University on September 20, 2025, in Hattiesburg, Miss.
