MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - In their regular-season home opener on August 27, 2025, the Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons suffered a challenging defeat, losing 2-0 to the Truett McConnell University Bears.

The first half concluded with Truett McConnell leading 1-0.

Diego Alejandro Montes Carrera started in net for the Barons but was unable to keep the Bears off the scoresheet despite turning away seven shots. Truett McConnell emerged victorious.
Head Coach
Bob Neumann shared his thoughts on the performance. "It's early days. One of the toughest parts of being a fall sport is getting ourselves to the physical levels to be able to compete as I want us to play for 90 minutes.
We didn't do enough to make life difficult for Truett, and they were deserved winners. It's going to be our responsibility to put our soul on the line, if we're going to get the results that we're looking for."
Next, the Barons look to bounce back as they face Columbia College back on their home turf in Mount Vernon on August 30, 2025, aiming to improve their current season record of 1-1-0.
