Barons Split at Space Coast Tournament

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Barons traveled to Melbourne Florida, to compete in the Space Coast Tournament. The Barons faced off against in a doubleheader taking on Indiana South Bend and Dallas Christian College on March 17, 2025. The Barons split taking game one against the Titans of Indiana South Bend 6-4, but dropped game two to the Lady Crusaders of Dallas Christian 6-4. The Barons saw great performances in both games from key contributors.

Game one the Barons' lineup was fueled by impressive performances from their players. Tori Wright, Hailey Gabrich, Alyssa Usrey, Eboni Medina, and Peyton Dorn all crossed the plate, contributing to the team's total of six runs. The RBI efforts were led by Abbey Flowers, Katelyn Skinner, and Alyssa Usrey, each making crucial plays to bring runners home.

Highlight of the game was Brewton-Parker's massive rally in the 3rd inning where the team scored four runs, turning the momentum firmly in their favor. Eboni Medina, entering as a pinch runner, played a pivotal role after stealing second and scoring, adding depth to the team's strategy. Peyton Dorn not only excelled on the mound with four strikeouts but also made significant contributions with her bat, landing two hits.

Game two commenced on a high note for the Barons as Tori Wright homered in the first inning, giving the team an early advantage. Wright continued her impressive display by doubling to right field and driving in a run in the fifth inning. Additionally, Hailey Gabrich added to the scoreboard by singling and showcasing her speed by stealing second base in the first inning.

Makayla Croft, the starting pitcher for Brewton-Parker, demonstrated a commendable effort on the mound against a tough opponent. The game saw the Barons executing critical plays, but the Lady Crusaders pulled ahead to clinch the victory.

Looking ahead, the Brewton-Parker Barons are set to face Faulkner on March 21, 2025, in Montgomery, Ala. The team, now with a record of 10-13-1, is eager to regroup and capture a win in the upcoming contest.
